Sonoma County Ag Preservation & Open Space District

In 1990, Sonoma County residents created the Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District to permanently protect the greenbelts, scenic viewsheds, farms and ranches and natural areas of Sonoma County.

The APOSD uses conservation easements and purchase to advance its conservation goals. The Conservation Planning team uses high-quality current data, technology and tools to prioritize conservation actions in order to use District funds in the most efficient and effective manner.
