Steps for Writing a Climate Action Plan

  • Start with a community-wide greenhouse gas emissions inventory for your city or county. A municipal or government inventory will only cover emissions caused by local government.
  • Set a goal for emissions reduction.
  • Identify initiatives and implementation measures to reach your emissions reduction goals.
  • Establish metrics to measure progress towards goals. Track and report on progress.
